DiVitas Networks Announces Interoperability with Trapeze Networks' WLAN Mobility System
Testing Proves DiVitas' Seamless, Unified Mobility Solution Works in Trapeze WLAN Environment to Provide Enterprise Mobility
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. (04/17/2006) - DiVitas Networks, a provider of seamless, unified mobility solutions for enterprise networks, today announced that it has successfully tested the interoperability of its platform with Trapeze Networks'™, the award-winning provider of the wireless LAN (WLAN) Mobility System™, MP-372™ access point and new MX-200™ and MX-216™ series of switches to enable enterprise campus mobility, and the industry's first demonstrable Fixed Mobile Convergence for Wi-Fi and Cellular.
DiVitas and Trapeze successfully tested a VoIP-over-WiFi application, handing off VoIP calls from the WLAN to the cellular network and back for seamless roaming over the best available network.
"DiVitas wants to make it easy for enterprises to adopt our solutions by ensuring that they work in every network environment and with every type of mobile phone-dual-mode phones, WLAN phones, cellular phones, smartphones, and softphones," said Vivek Khuller, CEO of DiVitas. "Successfully proving our interoperability with Trapeze's MP-372 and MX-200 is an integral part of our strategy of enabling enterprises to take advantage of the DiVitas solution no matter what their network environment."
"We are excited to introduce the industries first WLAN switches to support FMC with a SIP phone application over a world class voice over WLAN product set," said Jim Vogt, president and CEO for Trapeze Networks. "To be the first to provide this application over our WLAN switches says a lot about our mobility architecture and portability of our software."
Leveraging cellular networks, Internet/WiFi technologies, and dual-mode handsets, DiVitas delivers mobile voice and text on a single platform, both within the enterprise and outside it. The DiVitas solution also serves as an application platform for enhanced communications capabilities at extremely attractive cost points. Above all, the DiVitas solution is controlled by the enterprise. Administrators can now centrally manage mobile communications independent of the network that delivers them.
