DiVitas Networks Solution Now Rated “Avaya Compliant”

DiVitas Mobile UC solution is compatible with key Avaya communications solutions

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CALIF., March 31, 2008 – DiVitas Networks™, a leader in Mobile Unified Communications (Mobile UC), today announced its solution is compliant with key Internet Protocol (IP) communications solutions from Avaya, a leading global provider of business communications applications, systems and services.  DiVitas has also become a member of the Avaya DevConnect program.

The DiVitas Mobile UC solution interoperates with Avaya Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) Enablement Services (SES) allowing Avaya communications system calls to be extended seamlessly to industry standard smartphones - in addition to Avaya IP deskphones.  Now employees can be contacted using a single company controlled number – anytime and anywhere.   Furthermore, the mobile solution supports seamless “in call” roaming across WiFi and cellular networks with access to Avaya business communications call features from the user’s mobile device.  As a result, companies can stay connected, manage cellular service costs and increase associate productivity.

By working with Avaya, DiVitas delivers valuable Mobile Unified Communication (Mobile UC) extension capabilities to the popular Avaya product family. The DiVitas Mobile UC solution is installed as a mobility server overlay within the enterprise or small or midsize business. The Avaya communications and SES solutions interoperate with DiVitas-supported Windows Mobile and Symbian smartphone handsets to extend the telephony access capability beyond the office seamlessly over any mobile network - cellular, WiFi or both.

“A primary goal for DiVitas is to provide our customers with a world-class Mobile UC solution that extends and leverages their existing infrastructure investments,” said Vivek Khuller, President and CEO of DiVitas Networks.  “To do this, it is imperative for our DiVitas Mobile UC solution to integrate tightly with the popular IP communications systems in place.  Avaya’s position as a leader in this space made integration a natural choice for us. Membership in Avaya’s developer community will help us serve those customers who already have an Avaya business communications solution in place.”

DiVitas Networks is also now a Gold member of the Avaya DevConnect program, which is an initiative to develop, market and sell innovative third-party products that interoperate with Avaya technology—and extend the value of a company’s investment in its network.

As a Gold member of the program, DiVitas Networks is eligible to submit products for compatibility testing by the Avaya Solution Interoperability and Test Lab in Lincroft, N.J.  There a team of Avaya engineers develops a comprehensive test plan for each application to verify whether it is Avaya compliant.  Doing so ensures businesses can confidently add best-in-class capabilities to their network without having to replace their existing infrastructure—speeding deployment of new applications and reducing both network complexity and implementation costs.

“By offering compliance testing to the many innovative companies like DiVitas Networks, who are members of our DevConnect program, Avaya promotes fully interoperable solutions that help businesses unleash powerful new possibilities,” said Eric Rossman, vice president, developer relations and technical alliances, Avaya.  “They are able to use Intelligent Communications to connect employees and customers to information from wherever they are, over whatever device they have available – getting more out of their multivendor network and delivering new value to their bottom line.”
